The School of Social Sciences & Humanities (SSH) anticipates an important role in developing quality human resources capable of generating new knowledge and educating people. SSH is dedicated to teaching and to the creation, interpretation, application, and dissemination of knowledge for preparing professionals to meet the future challenges.
The mission of the school is to bring about qualitative improvement in the educational institutions through professional development of teachers, head teachers and educational managers, and to share knowledge with the stakeholders through educational research, instruction, and practice.

Drawing from History
The School of Education and Arts was established on May 05, 2003, as a result of academic restructuring for a new beginning aimed at institutional development and academic excellence. Formerly the School comprised of the Faculty of Educational Management and Technology (FEMT) established in Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) in July 1999 and the first trimester started from January 01, 2000. As a first step, FEMT offered five academic programs viz MA Education, MA English Language Teaching (ELT), MA Educational Leadership and Management (ELM), Master of Education (MEd) and Bachelor of Education (BEd). In addition to the degree programs, FEMT initiated short courses and a Center for Educational Research and Advisory.
Consequent upon the academic restructuring of the Institute, the School of Education and Arts, will soon have new departments viz., Department of Sociology, Department of English Language and Literature, and Department of Islamic Learning with innovative masters programs in addition to the already existing degree programs offered under the Department of Educational Leadership and the Department of English Language Education.
