Prof Dr Muhammad Shahbaz Arif, Chairman Department of English Language and Literature at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), invited Prof Dr Nasim Riaz Butt, an eminent Professor at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for a seminar on “Teaching English Language Through Literature”. The seminar was held on February 29, 2008.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Butt said that Literature represents culture and tradition. Its importance lies in the fact that it communicates to us through language. It opens up new worlds of experiences. He urged research scholars to generate and develop their own ideas and refrain from borrowing without acknowledgement which is considered to be plagiarism. |
