
In the prestigious national level Maritime Essay Competition 2025, recent graduates of UMT in International Relations, Mughees Ahmed Khan and Phelomeana Ann, won second place and a cash prize worth 75,000 PKR, garnering them national recognition. What distinguished them was their essay entitled "Bridging the Naval Gap: Leveraging Autonomous Drone Swarms to Enhance Pakistan's Maritime Security." The Pakistan Navy War College's Maritime Centre of Excellence in Lahore hosted this competition.
