In connection with International Women's Day
The Department of Gender Studies at the School of Advanced Studies, UMT held a seminar "A Dialogue on Women's Rights" in connection with International Women's Day, on Thursday, 9th March 2017. The ceremony was conducted by Ms Iram Rasheed, Lecturer DGS. Ms Ambreen Salahuddin, Asstt. Prof and In-charge DGS delivered the welcome address. The worthy guests speakers were; Ms Hina Butt (MPA, Punjab Assembly), Mr Fareed Paracha (Naib Ameer, Jamat-i-Islami Pakistan), Ms Fauzia Viqar (Chairperson, Punjab Commission on the Status of Women), Ms Mumtaz Mughal (Resident Director, Aurat Foundation). Dr Abdul Hameed, Dean SAS and SSS&H gave concluding remarks and presented UMT souvenirs to the guest speakers. The session was well-attended and audience participated enthusiastically in the Q&A session.
