Dr. Tayyaba is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, UMT, Lahore. She completed her PhD in International Relations from University of Management and Technology in 2024, under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Pervez. Her PhD won the prestigious Dr Hassan Murad merit award at UMT. Her dissertation is on US-India Strategic Partnership and its Implications for China in the Indo-Pacific, with a special mention of the QUAD complex. Her research conceives of Quad as a Heterarchical Regional Security Complex (HRSC) – which is a novel construct in itself, and has not been applied to Indo-Pacific politics before.

She has published research articles in several peer-reviewed international journals, such as; Strategic Analysis and The International Spectator . She has also presented her work in various conferences across Pakistan.

 

Her research interests include; International and regional security, Indo-Pacific power politics, Conflict and Peace Studies, and theories of International Relations, particularly Regional Security Complex Theory.
