Gen Javed Hassan - Advisor to President UMT, Dr Shoaib Pervez -Chairperson DPSIR, Dr Sharreh Qazi -Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, University of the Punjab were the panelists. The session was moderated by DPSIR faculty member Saad Malik.
This thought provoking and insightful session revolved around pre-1947 history of Kashmir and the rulers (Afghans, Mughals, Sikhs, Dogras) who ruled Kashmir, then identity of Kashmir based on Kashmiriyat, Kashmiriness and Rishi tradition was also explored and challenges in resolution of this long standing dispute and Pakistan's diplomatic, political, legal and military choices were also highlighted. The speakers stressed that academia has a huge responsibility in creating awareness and producing meaningful and purposeful research. The talk was followed by a Q & A session.
