In order to provide a firsthand experience of field activity to the Sociology students and build their understanding of complex medical sociological issues, like Polio, a 2-day training on Polio Post Campaign Monitoring (PCM) in collaboration with the WHO Pakistan was organized at DG Board Room dated 6-7 March, 2023. Training informed students of how monitoring and evaluation occurs during a project using universally adopted methodology for quality assessment, i.e. Lots Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS).
Training was followed by 2-day field activity dated 20-21 March, 2023 within selected clusters at district Lahore, where students were engaged in sociological research, including going out into the community, observing, interviewing, and interacting with individuals in their natural environments to gain relevant information, and adhering to ethical considerations. This activity provided a real-time experience to students of planning and conducting a community based
survey to equip students with practical skills.
