The Department in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO) engaged the students of Sociology in 2nd round of training and field activity to provide them an opportunity for community research. A 2-day training for students on Polio Post Campaign Monitoring (PCM) was organized at UMT main campus dated 15-16 May including field simulation, using the universally adopted methodology for quality assessment, i.e. Lots Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS). The training was followed by 2-day field activity dated 22-23 May 2023 for validation within selected clusters at district Lahore, where students were able for applying their knowledge, observing, interviewing, and interacting with the target population to gain relevant information, and adhering to ethical considerations. This activity provided a real-time experience to students in planning and conducting a community-based survey, enabling them to equip with practical skills.
