Dr. Muhammad Samiullah invited at Rhein Waal University, Kleve, Germany.

"The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences (BBAW), a state institution under which several research institutes operate, such as the Max Planck Institute, has offices located approximately in the same vicinity. Today, Dr. Muhammad Samiullah had first meeting in Potsdam with the technical team of BBAW's Corpus Coranicum project, to which he was invited for discussions. During this meeting, the project's details were discussed.

Dr. Muhammad Samiullah was asked why Qurans in the Islamic world are published in different scripts, despite the consensus that opposing the Uthmani script is not permissible.

My explanation essentially summarized that Imam Abu Amr al-Dani (Al-Muqni', Al-Muhkam fi Naqt al-Masahif) and Imam Abu Dawud Sulayman ibn Najah (Al-Munsif) are considered the foundational imams of orthography. However, Imam al-Balansi and Imam al-Shatibi, at certain points, differed from these two imams. This led to Quran being published according to four positions of the Uthmani script. Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries print Quran according to the views of Ibn Najah. In African countries, Quran is printed according to the preferences of Imam al-Balansi, in Libya according to Imam Dani, while in the Indian subcontinent, they are printed according to the interpretations of Imam Dani and Shatibi.
