Dr. Habibullah Pathan
Dr Habibulla Pathan is Director and Associate Professor at the Directorate of English Language & Development Centre of Mehran University, Jamshoro. Dr Pathan did his first Masters from Pakistan in English followed by his second professional Masters in English Language Teaching from University of Glasgow, UK in 2009. Later, Dr Pathan completed his PhD at the University of Glasgow, UK in 2012. Later, under Hubert H Humphrey Fellowship’s professional attachment opportunity, Dr Pathan did his postdoctoral research at MIT, USA under supervision of Prof Noam Chomsky and completed his project on 'Indoctrination through State controlled textbooks in Pakistan'. In addition, Dr Pathan completed his Hubert H Humphrey fellowship at Boston University USA in fields of Higher Education Administration, Policy and Planning and also received certifications from State Department signed by US President Obama and Senator John Kerry and certification from Questrom Business School in Non Profit Management and Leadership. Dr Pathan has to his credit more than 18 research papers published HEC recognized national and international journals. Dr Pathan is the founder of first ever MPhil/PhD program in English Language at Mehran University in the 50 years history of the University. He has authored a book named ‘Indus Identity: A study of textbooks in Pakistan’. Recently, he has established Institute of Professional Linguists, Pakistan (Professional Society of Linguists in Pakistan).
