Introduction

Department of Political Science and International Relations offers a two-year MS program in Security and Strategic Studies. It is essentially an interdisciplinary program covering national and international security issues with a special focus on war and military strategy, technological warfare, nuclear politics, defense and security policy, global politics, conflict resolution and transformation, leadership and decision-making, and regional studies. This program introduces the students to real-world case studies by exposing them to strategic scenarios and presenting them with opportunities to interact with national/international thinkers and policy practitioners. The ever-changing international and strategic environment demands specialized knowledge in the field of strategic and security studies which is ably being met through this program. After completing the degree, students can explore career options in both public and private sectors as analysts, strategic planners, forecasters, researchers, consultants, anchorpersons, commentators, educators, etc. Potential workplaces include the Foreign Service and other government ministries, security establishment, corporate sector, NGOs, international organizations, media, as well as academic institutions such as universities and thinktanks

Eligibility Criteria

  • 16 years of education in a relevant field with minimum 2.0 CGPA or 50% marks in the annual system.
  • GAT(General)/ UMT Graduate Admission Test (at least 50%)
  • Admission Interview will be conducted by the graduate committee of the department passed by at least 50% marks.
  • No third division in the entire academic career
