Introduction
MPhil program in Political Science has been designed to introduce students to important theories, concepts, and issues in the study of political behavior, phenomena, and processes. It covers the major subfields of political science, including political theory, research methods, government structures, constitution, political parties, comparative politics, public administration, public policy, and international relations. It mainly emphasizes on the functional aspects of politics in society and enables the students to understand the functioning of the political system and study its various components and actors influencing this functioning. At its core, an MPhil in Political Science examines how power is distributed, exercised, and contested within a nation.
Curriculum Structure
A minimum of 30 credit hours of work is required to complete M.Phil. Political Science program. These 30 credit hours include 24 credit hours of coursework and 6 credit hours of thesis. Out of 24 credit hours of coursework, 15 credit hours must be earned through 5 core courses. The rest of the 9 credit hours can be completed by taking 3 elective courses.

Eligibility Criteria
- 16-years of relevant education with minimum 50% marks or 2.0 CGPA and GAT with 50 % marks
- GAT(General)/ UMT Graduate Admission Test (at least 50%)
- Admission Interview will be conducted by the graduate committee of the department passed by at least 50% marks.
