Dean's Message

The School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) offers a wide range of Degree programs focusing on study of Humans, Society, Culture and Institutions with the major focus on producing graduates who can actively engage in providing solution to diverse social problems.

The School aims to provide Leaders, academicians, researchers and Social Scientists who possess updated knowledge and expertise to render services in different domains of practice; can embrace challenges such as illiteracy, injustice, violence, intolerance, all forms of discrimination; be instrumental in bringing peace, prosperity to the society and to uplift quality of life of individuals. We strongly believe in inclusive society; elimination of segmentation and segregation; promotion of cultural harmony and peace.

Different Departments in SSH not only hold their individual distinction in terms of knowledge and research expertise in the specific discipline but also in terms of interdisciplinary approach.  In fact, they draw their strength from interdisciplinary Academic and Research collaborations. We give utmost importance not only to impart you updated knowledge but also to help you become a good researcher and a thorough professional. Our emphasis is of course academic excellence but in addition we inculcate in you sense of responsibility, civic sense, volunteerism, tolerance and leadership. I as Dean, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, welcome you to this great seat of learning and assure you provision of healthy and conducive environment and quality education under the supervision of faculty members holding international repute. I hope and pray that your stay in UMT is very meaningful, enjoyable and after completion of your degree you become a productive part of Pakistani society.
