Introduction

Associate degrees are typically 2-year programs.

An Associate Degree is a two-year undergraduate academic degree that is awarded by both the private and public colleges and universities. It is a post-intermediate academic degree that focuses on a respective field chosen by the students.Associate degrees are typically 2-year programs.

An associate degree in sociology examines foundational concepts in the field, including social stratification, culture, inequality, and globalization.The field of sociology uses scientific methods to study various aspects of society and human behavior. It is a constantly evolving area of study because of the shifts in social interaction that come with new technologies and ideas.

Program Objectives

The program objectives are to:

  • Lay a strong theoretical foundation for understanding any social phenomenon.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of research methodologies, their underlying philosophies and their practical application.
  • Encourage and equip participants to generate indigenous knowledge and place it  in the local and global perspective using relevant theoretical frameworks.
  • Equip participants academically and professionally to enable them to be relevant to diverse fields for career selection.

 

Program Scheme of Studies

Eligibility Criteria:

(Minimum Criteria for Admission)

14 Years of Education (BA/BSc./Associate Degree or equal e.g B.Com etc..)

Duration:

5 semesters for candidates with 14 years of education (BA/BSc/B.Com/ADP/ADA/ADS or equal)

General Admission Requirements for Students

A prospective applicant must have:

  • 14 years of education (BA/BSc/B.Com/ all Associate Degrees or equal) with 45 % marks or CGPA 2
  • Qualify Interview and/or entry test

Program Fee

  • The fee of the program will be charged as per credit hour fee of B.S Sociology i.e. 5,230 PKR/per credit. For students with B.A/B.Sc stream, the fee will be 428,860 PKR for 82 credits. 
  • The fee of the program for the associate degree students with minimum 60 credit hours, 376,560 PKR/Per credit (72x5,230 PKR). The variation of fee will be as per the studied credit hours.
