Introduction
The degree in BS Special Needs Education (four-year degree program) has been launched at UMT to prepare professionals to provide the most appropriate learning support to children with special needs. The curriculum and instructional methodology have been properly supported by sign interpreters and benchmarked to the international standards. The participants will be able to pursue higher studies anywhere in the world after completing this program. The program is in conformity to the International Movement for Inclusive Education and The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). It enables students to understand general principles and practices in the education of students with special needs and acquire specialist knowledge and skills in one area of specialization. The areas of specialization offered include hearing impairment, intellectual impairment, physical handicap, and visual impairment. The program is a blend of theory and practice. The option of the internship is available for those who intend to join teaching as a profession.

- 1. Equipped with knowledge, skills, ethics, expertise to work for differently abled students

- 4. Work as special educationists to deal with educational and emotional well-being of persons with special needs, their families and community at larger scale.
