President PILDAT Mr Ahmed Bilal Mehboob and Senior Manager Projects Mr Faheem Ahmed Khan visited Department of Political Science and International Relations (DPSIR), University of Management and Technology (UMT) to talk on Democracy and role of student politics. It was an engaging and interactive session where the speaker educated the students on the role student unions played in the history of Pakistan. Their importance in strengthening democracy was also deliberated. President PILDAT enlightened the students on the difference b/w student unions, student councils and student federations. Recommendations, prospects and possibilities of reviving student unions were also discussed. Presence of student activists and leaders belonging to different ideologies and ethnicities made it all more exciting. The talk was moderated by faculty member Saad Malik which was followed by a Questions and Answers session.
