First International Conference on Peace Studies by Center for Critical Peace Studies (CCPS) held at UMT

Center for Critical Peace Studies (CCPS) under the dynamic leadership of Director CCPS Dr Fatima Sajjad arranged First International Conference on Peace Studies in collaboration with United States Institute of Peace (USIP). The key note speakers included Dr. Fareed Alatas (Distinguished professor of Sociology, National University of Singapore), Micheal Rossman (Acting Mission Director USAID) and Imran Khan (Country Head USIP). The agenda of the conference revolved around the significance of peace in education and how it can promise existence of sustainable peace in society. Prominent academics within UMT, across the country and around the globe presented their papers including lecturer from Department of Political Science and International Relations (DPSIR) Muhammad Qasim. There were few brilliant students of  DPSIR who presented their papers on the mentioned theme too. Rector University of Management and Technology Dr Asif Raza - Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (M) expressed his views and appreciated CCPS in his address. CCPS is committed to peace through dialogue and education and will continue to strive for it.
