Program Mission Statement

M.Phil in Islamic Thought and Civilization program aims to strengthen the research and teaching about Islam giving attention to Islamic thought and civilization in contemporary challenges. The program seeks to provide a unique and multifaceted approach to the study of Muslim thought and civilization by placing the study of Islam within a framework of the religious and civilizational study, allowing for a wider analytical and comparative perspective.

Admission Criteria

  • M.A./M.Sc. in Social or Natural Sciences or Equivalent Degree
  • At least 50% marks (annual system) or 2.5 CGPA (semester system)
  • HEC Equivalence Certificate (for Madrassa graduates)
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic
  • No 3rd division in educational career
  • Pass UGAT test and Interview

Degree Requirement

  • Course work: 24 Credit Hours
  • Research Work (Thesis): 6 Credit Hours
  • Total: 30 Credit Hours
  • CGPA Required: 2.0

2 years (2 semesters coursework + 2 semesters research)

  • Admission Fee: PKR. 25,000 (Non-refundable)
  • Total Tuition Fee: PKR. 590,000
